Between Tony Hawk Ride, Shaun White Skateboarding, and Skate, gamers have a lot more options than they once did when it comes to riding virtual pavement. With EA's Black Box-developed Skate 3 set to roll out May 11, gamers can try before they buy with a demo that is now available through Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
Skate 3 features the new locale of Port Carverton, and gamers can sample this city's University District in the demo. The free trial offers a number of single- and multiplayer challenges, such as Domination, Own the Lot, and Hall of Meat.
Beyond the skating experience, the demo also lets players sample the new Skate School training mode, as well as a Skate Park level editor that lets gamers create their own parks and shoot videos and photos of their exploits. The demo version of the level editor includes 24 items that can be added to the University District.
